The Invisible Woman Speaks

As I sit here, trying to come up with something to write about, I find myself empty of anything newsworthy or edifying.

It seems I'm invisible lately.

I have spent the week trying to heal and find myself frustrated 5 days after the fact, still having to move slowly and gingerly. I find sitting more painful than standing, but standing gets old after a while.

I'm home alone today. Hubby and daughter took a friend of Hubby's to ride the difficult bike trails. They should be gone most of the day. I'm happy not to have to cook or wait on others for a while. I actually wish I had someone to wait on me for a change.

Blessings are my students return next week and I start two new ones that will take the place of those lost. I'm still only breaking even and not quite that because some of my returning students are only coming every other week now due to financial difficulties. Still, I'm counting that as a blessing that they are at least coming.

Another blessing is two friends of Hubby's were doing trail work this morning and brought a load of wood for our wood stove from trees they cut down; every little bit helps in keeping us warm this winter.

  1. Julie... you sound so down in the dumps. I'm so sorry. I wish I could help you. I don't know what you are healing from, but I hope it's a fast recovery. I know that feeling of the 'invisible woman' and it's no picnic. It's an awful feeling. All we can do is get involved in some kind of activity that occupies the mind so we don't dwell on it. You take care. Remember, I'm here and you're not invisible to me... I look forward to seeing your posts. Love and hugs.

  2. Sounds like you are feeling unappreciated:-( I totally understand that feeling. I think as a wife and mom we do so much and at some point it gets taken for granted. I usually have a couple of "blow up" moments a year and the taken for granted stops..haha. Keeping you in my prayers that your pain subsides quickly! (((HUGS)))

  4. Cheryl,
You will see in the right side bar a button for "join this site". I have also added a subscribe button, but for some reason it's not showing and I don't know what to do about it.
