Uncertainty At Every Turn

The last couple of weeks here have been a bit overwhelming. It seems so many things have been up in the air....uncertainty...difficult decisions.

Hubby's family is planning a big birthday party/family reunion for his mom this coming weekend. We told them months ago that we couldn't afford to go, but they insisted and said they'd even buy our plane tickets. We still had to find care for our three dogs before we could go and Hubby just seemed so uneasy and uncertain as to whether or not we should still go. One
possibility was for him to go alone and me stay home with the dogs, but when we found out my Visa card had expired and the cards they said they sent still haven't arrived, we had no way of purchasing tickets. Hubby finally decided he wasn't going to go, I don't know what his sisters will say, they can be quite difficult when they don't get their way. He seems more at peace now, so I guess this was the right decision for him.

Work has suddenly come into the shop...lots of it, which is great, but Hubby is now under the stress of getting it done and on time. Please pray the customers will pay on time and we can maybe get out of this financial hole we've been in. I'm still planning on spending a good share of my summer taking care of things that would need to be dealt with in the event a move became necessary.

Sunday afternoon was the first organ committee meeting at church. The good that came of it was that most of those in attendance feel that an organ still has a role in our worship. It was decided that a poll of the congregation is necessary to see if they are behind this venture. That decision has since been overturned by the senior pastor who felt it would open a can of worms that really didn't need to be opened. The associate pastor has suddenly been moved to see that a purchase is made ASAP! I'm not sure why all of a sudden he feels this is a priority, but I'm not complaining. The one we had hoped to buy was sold recently, so the search begins again.

Tomorrow is my spring student recital - always a busy and exhausting day for me. Out of ten students, only four are participating tomorrow night. It will be a short program to say the least!

A dear friend of mine lost her father to cancer
yesterday. She cared for him for the last 6 years and was with him when he passed ; now she begins the grieving process and the uncertainty of what lies ahead for her. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. Thank you.

After recital is over I plan to do some major cleaning here in the coming summer months and focus more on consistent exercise and weight loss. I want to make some big changes around here while I have the sunshine to motivate me.

The day is over for the most part - just supper to prepare and clean up now. I will find some way to relax this evening.

Until next time...

  1. I am so thankful you are going to get an organ after all, and whatever changed the assoc. pastor's mind, praise the Lord. Sorry it didnt work out for the trip, but maybe it is for the best. Will certainly pray for the one who recently had a death

  4. I could tell yesterday when we talked that you had quite a burden on your shoulders, but one thing you have to learn about me --- I don't pry into other's business, only if they want someone to talk to. You are in my prayers tho' and I appreciate having you in my life.
Hopefully this new business coming into the shop will be a blessing and the customers will pay right away.
So glad the church has decided to keep an organ in the services.
I'll be thinking of you tomorrow evening and hope the recital is a success. ♥

  5. So happy about the organ news!!

You know, sometimes you just have to listen to that little voice speaking to you (sometimes a big voice). I think you and hubby are supposed to stay home from the birthday/reunion. There is always a reason, and I'm glad he listened to his 'gut' and decided to stay home. The fact that your cards are also late is just another sign. Feel good about it.

Hooray that good business is coming into the shop. Another reason to stay home and keep at it. It's all good, Julie. It's all good. Hugs & love.
