Snow Bummed !!

Note the difference in this picture compared to the one at the top of my page...more about that in a minute.

My son was supposed to come visit today, but even with the storm lessening we advised him to make the trip another time. There is still considerable snow coming down and lots of blowing and drifting. It's been quite a blizzard...we haven't had one like this in several years.

Our front door was totally snowed in. Hubby shoveled, but when I went out a bit ago, I saw it's nearly impassable again. Someone tried to drive down our street last night and got stuck. The snow is completely covering the doors. The plow came down this morning, but had to stop and back up. Seriously, this is getting old.

Hubby is at the rink reffing hockey again...I'm home cooking and cleaning for tomorrow. I never know how many college people are going to show up for a meal. Sometimes we have four plus the two of us and sometimes it's just the two of us. I made chili and baked a cake. It was supposed to be for my son, but I had my mouth all watered up for it so I baked it anyway. Hopefully someone besides the two of us will be eating it.

I'm tired, but I think I'll grab a quick shower and then start working on some cards.

THINK SPRING !!

  1. I'll try this again. My first attempt at a comment just went poof -- gone. I hate when that happens.
I said I was in shock at all the snow you've gotten. That's horrible. I feel bad for you. It is getting old. I got a glimpse of some brown grass yesterday but we could get that covered again.
It sounds like a good idea your son didn't try to make the trip. At least you knew he was safe and not out on the road. How does your hubby get out to work and the games? Does he drive a 4-wheeler? Or a plow? hahaha
I hope some of the kids got to eat your chili and cake.
    You have a good day.

    1. Yes I was glad I didn't have to worry about them out on the road, but I was disappointed and it made for a long day since I was planning on them being here.

Both of our vehicles are 4-wheel drive - his is a pick-up and the extra ground clearance comes in handy on days like this.

Chili and cake all gone - teens can sure eat! :)

  2. Glad you had some help eating the chili and cake! I just can't even imagine being in weather like that anymore, Julie. Horrid.

  3. Oh my gosh! I can't get over how much snow you have! This is by far the worst winter I have ever experienced. We have another storm heading our way for tomorrow. SO. Sick. Of. Winter.!!
