It's also time to make my ATC cards for this month...the theme is nightmares. I'm trying to be creative here, yet I don't want to put in as much time on them as I did last month.
When I opened the cable/internet bill, I saw that they raised the rates yet again. They now want $141.13 per month! Hubby keeps talking about discontinuing service - he took the bill with him to work today, he said he's going to call. The problem is I still want/need internet here at the house and if we cut off just cable service they will raise our internet cost since it will no longer be "bundled". All in all it's possible we will only save $20. or so.
I long for fresh air and sunshine; I'm starting to feel very claustrophobic. I am sensing the coming of spring, however...the longer days, sun trying to peek through the clouds more often, etc. By focusing on my projects this winter, it really did make the time go faster.

I feel your pain about the cable bill. We bundled too, but finally cut out our home phone. Now we have cells and a Magic Jack at home for $19.95 a YEAR. We only have basic cable...no HBO etc. Things are getting so high, we have to keep cutting. Hope the rest of day is good.
ReplyDeleteWe've also cut some spending here and there and the first was the cable/internet/home phone. We have Time Warner and it was costing us $158 a month. I called them and we went down to the slower internet, instead of the high speed; went to basic cable and did away with a few bundle perks like the voice mail on our home phone, which we never used, and it cut our bill down to $99 a month. The rest is all taxes and fees. They will work with you but you have to be firm and not let them talk you into "other perks". hahaha
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good day.
Our cable, internet and phones are bundled, too, and our bill is a lot higher than yours. Crazy. We lowered some things and got rid of premium stations, but it is still too expensive. Guess we'll bite the bullet as long as we can.
ReplyDeleteEvery 6 months or so we call the cable company and ask them to do a review of our account to see if there are any specials that they are currently offering that we are not getting. We always tell them that we don't want to have to cancel our account but we are prepared to switch companies if they are not able to find us a better deal. I have never had them not find a lower price. I did this in January and my bill went down $60! I hope your husband had some luck today with them.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is indeed very expensive. I pay around 50 us dollar a month for cable/internet/phone. I hope your husband manages to get the bill downsized. Kris's suggestion sounds like a good one to me.
