Last
night J came up to drop off more things for us to store for him. When
he arrived in town I was in Walmart killing time until time to pick up E
from soccer practice. In order to allow us more time together, he met
me there. H was finishing her shift at work, so she was also able to
join us for awhile. After I picked up E, we grabbed blackened chicken
ceasar wraps for supper from one of J's favorite restaurants and headed
home. I was disappointed when he opened the laptop and turned on the tv.
I really hoped we could spend some quality time together. The good news is, he had lunch with his boss this week, who felt badly about giving him so much busy work this summer, and not a lot of opportunities to work in his field, so he gave him a $600.00 bonus!!
He leaves for the Detroit area Sunday morning. I am having a hard time with this, my baby is off to the big city! I have to admit to being afraid for him. I guess all I can do is pray that he stays close to God, stays safe and that he'll do well. He's grown into such a fine young man, I am so proud; yet I know how easily he can get sidetracked. I don't know when we'll see him again, maybe for a couple of days at Christmas. He'll be getting a job down there and will have many responsibilities. Wasn't it just yesterday he played with his toys at my feet? I miss him already, my heart is aching.
